Bipolar Recorder was launched by Hunter Keegan in October 2021. It’s a vehicle for people who live with bipolar disorder and other serious mental illnesses to share their stories and help shed light on these widely misunderstood conditions.
Initially conceived as a podcast (linked here), Bipolar Recorder rapidly expanded via a feature on Twitter called “Spaces.” Twitter Spaces (now known as “X” Spaces) are live, public, audio chat rooms where anyone can join in and share their stories. This unexpectedly led to the organic creation of an expansive online mental health peer-support community hosted by Hunter Keegan and other independent mental health advocates.
Hunter Keegan, known for his non-fiction articles, books, and other personal accounts about living with bipolar disorder, is an alumnus of Penn State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 2014. Therefore Bipolar Recorder incorporates an informed and educational perspective for audiences to learn from and resonate with.
As we celebrate our upcoming 2 year anniversary, we’re launching a SubStack as an avenue for continued mental health education and outreach. Subscribe to our SubStack for the latest updates from the Bipolar Recorder community as well as great bonus content.
As always, you can also support Bipolar Recorder on patreon.com
Most importantly, we ask that you tell your friends about Bipolar Recorder so we can keep expanding the scope and impact of this project.
Have a wonderful day, evening, or night… wherever you are.
